Vivian Demuth was educated in the Canadian Rocky Mountains where she has lived and worked as an outdoor educator, forestry fire lookout and park ranger for over twenty years. She has degrees in Science, Fine Art, English and Creative Writing. As a poet/fiction writer, artist/naturalist, her work has appeared in various Canadian, U.S., Mexican and European anthologies and journals, including: The Boreal Factor, Nose Mountain Moods, Venus Rising (forthcoming) Writing the Land: Alberta through its Poets, Powwow: Short Fiction from Then to Now, Hampton Shorts, Long Shot, The Prairie Journal, The Canadian Alpine Journal, Political Affairs, Logos: A Journal of Modern Society and Culture, Other Voices, Ciclo Literario and La Revue Commune.

With the assistance of a Canada Council Travel grant, Vivian was a writer-in-residence at Can Serrat Artisit’s Center near Barcelona, Spain in November 2006 and she read at Shakespeare & Company in Paris, France November 27, 2006.
